Check it out! The first agenda for 2017 is a whopper of an agenda! The Council will be reviewing the Mixed-Use Loophole in Vista. If you haven't read all about the mess that loophole has created, definitely read the Richard Riehl article in the San Diego Free Press: Vista's Mixed Use Zone: A Developer's Dream. It explains just what how developers are taking advantage of our mixed use loophole. 40 units allowed per acre vs. true residential at 20 units per acre. Less parking required = more cares parked on streets. Our mixed-use is not true mixed use, because it can be either all residential, all commercial or mixed-use.

Also on the agenda is the approval of the 47 condos behind Burger King on So. Melrose. This project has been approved by the Planning Commission. The project name is Warmington Residential. Many citizens have voiced their concerns over traffic in this area. There is no street parking available on Buena Vista or Melrose.

There is still more on the agenda. The agenda and all staff reports are available here: http://vista.granicus.com/GeneratedAgendaViewer.php?view_id=3&event_id=1085
